About Us

Kirkliston Community Council helps to represent the views of the community of Kirkliston at both City of Edinburgh Council and national levels.

We meet on the last Tuesday of every month, at 7:00pm at the Library on Station Road. However, we do not hold meetings in July and December.

    What we do:

    ·        Provide a link between the community and City of Edinburgh Council
    ·         Work with local councillors
    ·         Bring pressure to bear on the council and other bodies on a variety of local issues, such as traffic, street lighting, street cleansing, education, health, licensing, etc.
    ·         Comment and contribute on local and national transport issues
    ·         Comment on local planning applications
    ·         Liaise with the local police
    ·         Represent Kirkliston on the Almond Neighbourhood Partnership
    ·         Represent Kirkliston at the Edinburgh Association of Community Councils
    ·         Represent Kirkliston at the Scottish Association of Community Councils
    ·         Liaise with Edinburgh Airport
    ·         Organise Santa’s Xmas Eve tour of the village
    ·         Support Kirkliston Gardening Club and the annual Flower Show
